      EU leaders have made a historic decision to tackle climate change by agreeing on a new climate and energy deal to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030.

      Liberal Democrat Leader and Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg is launching a TechNorth, a new scheme to co-ordinate the existing digital technology expertise of Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Liverpool and Newcastle.

      The government will be investing in an organisation that will promote TechNorth internationally to encourage global businesses to invest in the North.

      TechNorth is born out of the Northern Futures project - in which Nick Clegg is asking people in the North what our Northern cities need to do in order to work together to compete globally and to boost their economic growth.

      The UK's wind farms generated a record amount of power at the weekend, according to the National Grid.

      On Saturday 18 October, wind farms generated 6,372 MW of power, the highest amount on National Grid records.

      Shocking NHS waiting times in Wales mean nearly 1,400 patients are waiting more than a year for treatment.

      The figures obtained by Liberal Democrats show that 9 patients in the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board area, have been waiting over 2 years and still haven't received their treatment.

      Nick Clegg has spoken out after it was revealed Sheffield's Labour Council Leader has refused to help vulnerable women and children refugees from Syria.

      It has emerged that Council Leader Julie Dore has contacted the Home Office to refuse the request for Sheffield to take part in the Coalition Government's Vulnerable Persons Relocation (VPR) scheme. The decision was apparently taken by Labour councillors behind closed doors and without any consultation.

      Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has blocked a Conservative plan to cap onshore wind generation.

      In practical terms, that would have meant no new onshore wind projects would have been supported by the Government.
